In-Office vs. In-Home

Providers can take both in-office and in-home appointments.

A provider must have an approved, rostered office in order to see patients at their location. You may review the approved office list here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZZ3peZjN-_oKiFqlqHVlEV5Fctnpd6er0UzEt7NazWU/edit#gid=1728558409

Referrals can switch from In-office to in-home and vice versa.

  • The appointments shouldn’t switch back and forth freely.

  • In order to switch from in-office to in-home, the VAMC has to make the adjustment on their side in HSRM.

    • If a referral is under the general NPI it can be done in-home or in-office.

    • If a referral is assigned to a specific provider’s NPI (their specific location) the referral needs to be adjusted if a change needs to be made.

    • Office switches requests are sent to the VAMC via encrypted email.
