HIPAA Request for Results Non-Patient/Guardian

Use Case:

• Individual who is not the patient or guardian of the minor (under 18) patient requests test results for the patient

Response: 

• “In compliance with HIPAA guidelines, we can only share medical information with the patient directly or the parent of a patient who is a minor.”

  • Keeps pushing “In order for us to send you the patient’s results, Zeel must receive written confirmation authorizing you to receive their test results”
